Champion Dustin Poirier was defeated by lightweight world champion Khabib Nurmagomedov in Abu Dhabi in their UFC 242 name unification bout.
Nurmagomedov, 30, filed the Poirier of America to make it 28 wins from 28 fights.
The Russian outwrestled Poirier within the initial two rounds before eventually securing a rear naked choke to cement his position since the UFC’s number one 155lb fighter.
