Catriona Matthew will hope to direct Europe into Solheim Cup victory again this past week, six years on from securing their latest success.
Matthew featured three winning sides with the Scot famously promising the crucial point to secure Europe’s triumph in 2013.
Europe held a two-point edge after the opening day and procured a clean sweep in the Saturday fourballs to shoot a 10.5-5.5 lead to the Sunday singles, where Matthew faced Gerina Piller.
Anna Nordqvist halved the opening game of the day, while wins for Charley Hull, Carlota Ciganda along with Caroline Hedwall – who all feature from the 2019 side – shot the group of Liselotte Neumann and guaranteed the decoration would return to Europe.
Matthews then enrolled the second minutes afterwards, holing a four-footer in the final to claim.
Europe goes on to win the competition by a margin, asserting seven and a half of the points that are available to complete a convincing 18-10 victory.
