Southend United have accepted the resignation of Kevin Bond after a horrible start.
The Shrimpers have lost their opening League One matches and sit in place, using Bolton under them due to their deduction.
Morning chairman Ron Martin met with Bond on Friday and that meeting concluded tendering his resignation.
Bond helped guide Southend to security and had taken control at Roots Hall in April.
“Kevin is a sincere expert coach with enormous knowledge in the business. His accomplishments in maintaining the club in League One last season needs to be acknowledged and will be remembered from the club’s supporters,” Martin stated.
“Regrettably the euphoria experienced in the end of this season hasn’t translated to the pitch up to now this year.
“But I remain convinced that the players we have at Southend United, for instance, strong signings made by Kevin Bond, will allow a successful year under the guidance of a new supervisor.
“The search for that person begins now.”
