Other than Nolan Arenado, this year’s top performance was a bust for the Colorado Rockies and it’s not getting better as the year advances.
The Rockies came their way by producing the month of some year when they went and followed the ignominious extend by joining a franchise record for losses in the month of August when the team fell 19 of 28 games.
Since the Rockies enter this three-game set against the top team from the National League, they will expect that beginner rookie Peter Lambert (2-5, 6.63 ERA, 1.63 WHIP) is able to right the boat following a stretch that has seen Colorado lose 10 of their final 11 contests.
The rookie has neglected to escape the inning in his previous two appearances, becoming struck for nine runs on 14 hits in declines from the Cardinals and Red Sox. In June, Lambert confronted the Dodgers in starts, surrendering a combined eight runs on 16 hits in nine-plus innings of work, in which LA won 12-8 and 5-4.
The Dodgers have hit some bumps in the road lately but nothing that will even remotely derail their odds of winning the division and probably capturing the No. 1 seed from the National League when the playoffs roll around.
Los Angeles has dropped five of their eight and avoided becoming trapped by the Diamondbacks from the town when Joc Pederson went yard in the very top of the inning to give his team a 4-3 extra-innings victory on Sunday.
Walker Buehler (11-3, 3.03 ERA, 1.02 WHIP) will choose the bump today for the Dodgers and he has more than lived up to his illustrious bill after being chosen 24th overall in the 2015 draft.
In his second season in the big-league level, Buehler threw the complete game of his career back on June 21st against the team he’ll face and has been named an All-Star. In that competition, Buehler allowed two runs on three hits and struck out 16 in a 4-2 LA success.
However, under a week later the ‘2″ right-hander was tagged for seven runs on 13 hits in five-plus innings from precisely the exact same team he stymied only six days earlier. The Rockies goes on to win this match 12-8 and avenge their loss.
The MLB odds are restrictive on the Dodgers in this Labor Day day contest, and we can not be surprised. Big Blue has a complete stud on the hill while the Rockies are urgently hoping a light will turn on and Peter Lambert will pitch his way through five innings without harm.
I don’t find that happening despite LA’s recent hiccups but can’t put north of -300, and that’s what the best online sportsbooks are currently requesting on the home favorite that is chalky.
Instead, I will turn to the run line, knowing LA has won eight of the 10 games by more two or more runs this year against the Rockies. Let’s bet the Dodgers -1 1/2 conducts (-140) within our MLB selections and money that Labor Day ticket!
