It’s no secret that quarterback??in the NFL is really the most crucial place in football and we’ve come to a point where each starting quarterback is well-paid or wishes to receive his money.
Well, fourth-year quarterback Dak Prescott with the Dallas Cowboys has his sights set on a fresh contract and oddsmakers have released gambling odds for where the yearly total will collapse.
Online sportsbook BetOnline has introduced a brand new gaming brace for Dak Prescott’s expected new??deal with the Cowboys and if his new deal will transcend or fall short of $34.5 million dollars each year.
The reason this number is important is it is just a little more than that which Eagles quarterback Carson Wentz obtained from Philadelphia back in June when he signed up a pupil $128 million-dollar expansion.
Look, I can be a Cowboys fan but I believe I can look at this through a transparent lens since I’m one of Prescott’s main critics. Prescott’s has achieved nothing but exceed expectations since coming into Dallas as a fourth-round pick. While many would attribute his success to an All-Pro running back and stout offensive line, he’s still led the Cowboys into a winning record in each of their three seasons along with his yards per effort have improved every year.
I’ll concur that his arm strength/accuracy is not the best to be regarded as one of the upper-echelon of all quarterbacks in the NFL. However, as a person who lived throughout the at the Quincy Carter/Drew Bledsoe/ Tony Romo eras, he is still managed matches enough not to completely blow it like his predecessors and there really isn’t an alternative for the cash-strapped Cowboys.
Dallas is currently going through a contract stalemate using RB Ezekiel Elliott and seems like prepping a new contract for WR Amari Cooper. The Cowboys have been in win-now mode and it’d be foolish for them to go into the Kirk Cousins course and franchise tag Dak annually since it is more expensive in the long term according to the guaranteed cash attached to those contracts.
Contracts generally for starting quarterbacks in the NFL increase annually since the brand new extension constantly raises the pub. Russell Wilson’s contract that he signed up this Summer compelled him that the highest-paid QB in the NFL with a mean yearly salary of $35 million dollars. The contract Mendoza line for starters is about $22 million.
While I don’t feel Prescott should function as highest-paid??signal-caller from the NFL, his track record and potential make $35 million look like a deal with the way that inflation has obtained over pre-tax contracts. In three decades, he probably would not also be in the top five to get a mean annual salary.
The main reason Eagles quarterback Carson Wentz’s contract seems relevant to this argument is that the direct comparison that may be made between him and Prescott. Both these quarterbacks are recognized as the future of the NFC East and came into the league at 2016.
Take a look at the profession stat comparison
– 3 playoff starts for Dak Prescott, 0
– Career Regular Season Record: 32-16 for Carson Wentz for Dak Prescott, 23-17
– NFC East Division names: two for Dak Prescott, 1 for Carson Wentz
– Career QB score: 96 for Dak Prescott, 92 to get Carson Wentz
– Career Average Yards Per Attempt: 7.5 for Dak Prescott, 7.1 to get Carson Wentz
– Career Rushing TDs: 18 for Carson Wentz for Dak Prescott, 2
– Career Games Missed: 0 to Dak Prescott, 8 to Carson Wentz
Now, I will agree that by the eye exam, Wentz looks better as a quarterback but flash and fashion are not necessarily a QB’s finest advantage. Availability and wins would be the tiebreakers and Prescott continues to be a cut above.
If I am Prescott’s representative, I have a litany of stats and production to work with as a barometer for a new contract for the client. Just based on these numbers above, Dallas??nearly must provide Dak an obscenely lucrative deal to remain with the Cowboys.
