Speculation over Todd Gurley’s left knee injury, which steered him down the stretch of this 2018 season, does not bother the back. Since Gurley told reporters Tuesday, he is coped with much worse .
“I had bigger problems to be concerned about coming out of college,” Gurley said Tuesday at the start of Rams mandatory minicamp. “This is small.”

The Rams running back is referencing his injuries while in the University of Georgia by 2012 through 2014. Gurley missed three games from 2013 with a high ankle sprain and most especially suffered a torn ACL in his left knee, the same one that has been bothering him last year, in November 2014.
Gurley chose to forego his senior year and announced for its 2015 draft, but had been feared to collapse draft boards because of his durability problems. The Rams ended up picking him with the 10th overall choice as the first RB off the board. Gurley missed the whole preseason and the first 3 matches of this 2015 regular season before making his debut in late September.
The running back did not miss one game because of injury after that… until Week 16 of this 2018 season.
Considering all that, dealing with an reportedly arthritic knee — or more accurately, reports of an arthritic knee don’t bother Gurley none.
“I Have been hearing things all my life. Whatever growing up. Hearing comments or anything that is. All the stuff don’t get to me,” Gurley said. “I feel as I do a great job, got a great supporting cast. … It is football. It is the game I’ve been playing my whole life, so it is nothing new to me. I know what I’m capable of. I understand what kind of person I am. No big deal to me personally.”
