Senior Slump? Snap Out of It! We realize you have got worked very hard within the last years that are few all of those challenging courses, getting involved with numerous extracurriculars, taking on leadership positions, etc. And, you’re truly working very difficult now on your college applications. You’ll feel very tempted to put off your school work and only other, more exciting possibilities (senior ditch time, anybody?) But trust us, now could be not the right time to slack off. You came this far, and you want to ensure that you finish strong. And not soleley for your own peace of mind, though we do hope you have your own internal motivations. Realistically, though, exactly what will probably motivate you most to keep those year that is senior up is just a little one thing called the <strong>Mid-Year Report</strong>.</p> <p>The Mid-Year Report is a very Common Application form that must be submitted by your counselor after your first semester year that is senior become available. Our office takes these grades into consideration, and expects that the trend in your grades will carry on. That means that when you’re earning high grades before, there isn’t any explanation those As shouldn’t be reflected on your Mid-Year Report.</p> <p>And although we’re in the topic, senioritis isn’t an excuse to allow your second-semester year that is senior slip, either. We’ll be sent a final transcript from your high school, and will make sure that those grades are intact, too. As always, we reserve the direct<span id="more-5453"></span>ly to rescind any admission decisions.</p> <p>So, moral of the story is: continue working hard, up until the very last day of senior year. And, prepare to function even harder (but have actually lots of fun too) in university!</p> <div> <div> <div> <article> <h1>The Art of the Health Supplement</h1> <p>Our deadline that is first is around the corner. Are you able to believe it?! December 1<sup>st</sup> is less compared to a month away. Pupils using for talent-based majors must submit a little more information, so we have clarified a few reasons for having the process.</p> <p>As well as doing the typical App and USC Writing Supplement, students signing up to the <strong>Iovine and Young Academy</strong>, <strong>Roski School of Fine Arts</strong>, <strong>class of Architecture</strong>, <strong>School of Cinematic Arts</strong>, <strong>School of Dramatic Arts</strong>, therefore the <strong>Thornton School of Music</strong> must finish the Arts Supplement.</p> <p> In order to do that, students need to respond ‘yes’ to the question, ‘Do you intend to submit an art supplement which means that your special skill in one or even more for the arts will likely be considered as section of the admission process to University of Southern California?’ on the Writing Supplement. This will allow for the link to Slideroom to appear within the left column of Common App.</p> <p><strong>Auditions</strong>:</p> <p><strong>Thornton</strong>: Students needs to be prescreened before being invited for the audition <a href="https://shmoop.pro/the-bell-jar-points-to-ponder/">https://shmoop.pro/</a>. To achieve this, students must upload recordings to the ‘Fall DecisionDesk portal’ by the 1st deadline december. They must also complete the creative Art Supplement in Slideroom. Thornton will send students an audition confirmation in late December. Please only submit a Slideroom health supplement for a major to which you are applying.</p> <p><strong>Dramatic Arts</strong>: To schedule an audition for the BFA, students must suggest their top three audition date preferences on Slideroom. If students are unable to go to a live audition, they must select ‘Recorded Audition’ on Audition Date Preference #1 and upload a recording on the ‘Media’ tab in Slideroom.</p> <p><strong>Interviews:</strong></p> <p><strong>Dramatic Arts</strong>: All applicants applying to the BA in Dramatic Arts program are expected to schedule an interview with an admission counselor either in person or on the telephone. Students can sign up for this meeting on the Dramatic Arts web site.</p> <p><strong>Portfolio distribution:</strong></p> <p><strong>Fine Arts</strong>: In addition to answering questions about the student’s innovative experience, pupils must submit 10-15 images on the Media tab on Slideroom. They truly are added one at time and can not be added in PDF format.</p> <p><strong>Iovine and Young Academy</strong>: Applicants are required to submit an original video of no more than one minute that illustrates an original concept for an innovative product, service or system that solves a problem, addresses a need, or provides a chance. In addition for this video, students may submit up to 5 media files including visual images, motion graphics, original music recordings, poems, and essays. Every one of these elements should be uploaded to the Media tab within Slideroom.</p> <p><strong>Architecture</strong>: Students can upload drawing, sketching, painting, graphic design, photography, movie, web-design, sculpture, ceramics and furniture design project examples to the Media tab on Slideroom. The admission committee would like to see proof of imagination. Up to 25 examples may be submitted.</p> <p><strong>Cinematic Arts</strong>: Depending on this program to which the student applies, students must submit a statement that is personal composing sample, creative portfolio list, responses to quick answer questions, and URLs in Slideroom.
