Japan are unsatisfied by reaching their first World Cup quarter-final, states flanker Lappies Labuschagne.
The Brave Blossoms are one of their home World Cup’s tales, topping Pool A to get to the knockout stages for the first time.
They play South Africa, who they upset in the 2015 World Cup.
Labuschagne says they are”not likely to stop ” and will”continue playing for each other and being a staff”.
The 30-year-old is just only one of just two members of the Japan team to be born in South Africa but says Japan is his own”new home”.
“I really love South Africa and the folks there but I also love Japan and everybody else here,” Labuschagne stated. “This is our team. This is now our house.
“we would like to make everybody in Japan proud, everyone within this camp, this specific group, we have worked really tough to make it to the goal we set ourselves up ”
Japan’s win over South Africa was one of the greatest consequences in World Cup history however their trainer Jamie Joseph says his side won’t draw the success.
“In reality, I’ve been trying to forget about it for the last four years,” Joseph explained. “Everyone spoke about it, but we’re a different team, different players.”
Springboks captain Siya Kolisi came off the seat four decades ago in Brighton and stated it had been a”very tough” defeat.
He said it had”stuck using” them until they conquer the Brave Blossoms 41-7 at a warm-up for this World Cup.
“It is something that we never want to go through again,” Kolisi explained.
“But they’re a much better team today, and it had been good to play that game ahead of the World Cup, simply to get that monkey off our back.
“Now it is a different game again. We are likely to get to be in our finest, as they have improved as a group – they are much better now than four years ago. Therefore, we’re looking forward to the challenge”
Japan winger Kotaro Matsushima scored five tries at the pool point, the joint of any participant, also Kolisi admitted he’s an”awesome player” but stated his side have nothing special set up to counteract him.
“We’ve got nothing specific to observe one person – their whole staff have been performing well, and he’s getting great opportunities because the staff are doing well with ball-in-hand,” Kolisi said.
