England’s World Cup game against Argentina at Tokyo on Saturday will be similar to a”war”, says Pumas hooker Agustin Creevy.
England are top of Group C with 2 wins from 2 while Argentina are next after a win and a beat.
The Pumas will have to conquer after they lost to France in their opener England to progress to the knockout stages.
“I think that the battle is going to be in the forward,” Creevy explained.
“We will need to win the scrum, we must acquire the lineout, the maul and the breakdown.
“Saturday’s going to be just similar to a war. It is a closing for us.”
England have won 18 of the 23 meetings including the last nine matches between the 2 teams, with Argentina.
Sport contests between the nations in the past four decades have often been performed against the background of the Falklands War between Argentina and the UK in 1982.
The battle resulted in the deaths of Argentine and 255 British servicemen. Three people from the islands died during the battle.
Diego Maradona has said that his’Hand of God’ goal against England in the 1986 football World Cup was revenge to the Falklands while Fifa fined the Argentina Football Association #20,000 following its players exhibited a banner in service of the country’s claims to the Falkland at 2014.
Creevy, who played for Worcester Warriors in England, may become the Pumas’ participant if he makes an appearance in Tokyo.
“Maybe my experience with Worcester can allow me a lot, to observe the way that it’s going to play ,” he explained.
The praised England for the approach that’s returned to its well-honed finest this year – and as a result pushed against them among the challengers for a World Cup.
“Sometimes it is boring but I think that it’s great for England. It works for them,” he explained.
“We train a great deal in scrum skills and our mentality.
“I believe we’re improving a lot in the scrum. We feel really good today but we need to continue. The England scrum is truly good.”
