Trainer Phil Kirby is excited about watching his two secure celebrities Lady Buttons along with Top Ville Ben kick off their campaigns on Charlie Hall Chase at Wetherby.
Leading Ville Ben is currently a dual winner over fences at the West Yorkshire circuit and has been targeted in the Charlie Hall Chase itself, using rounded off his novice campaign with an exceptional attempt to finish third behind Lostintranslation and Topofthegame in Aintree.
The admirable Lady Buttons has won 12 races for Kirby and is set to bid for a fourth victory at Wetherby at the OLBG.com Mares’ Hurdle – a race she won last year and finished second in supporting La Bague Au Roi at 2017.
Kirby told Sky Sports Racing:”They’re both doing tons of cantering. They have not done any fast work yet, but they would not be a million miles off. They seem well and theyboth’ll be aimed at the Charlie Hall meeting.
“Top Ville Ben will run in the Charlie Hall and Lady Buttons will won at the final race she won every year. Everything has gone to program so far, we have just got to maintain it that way.
“Buttons can do a very similar issue to last year – she’ll start off at Wetherby, and maybe visit Newbury and go to Doncaster for all those Listed races and the big prize-money. We’ll see where we end up at the season’s end.
“For Best Ville, the plan was to go to the Charlie Hall to start with. We are going to see how he gets , but if he’s competitive, he can always head to Newbury for your Hennessy (Ladbrokes Trophy).”
