The Pittsburgh Pirates Come back at PNC Park after participating in the Little League Classic against the Chicago Cubs at Bowman Field last night.
They shot the Cubs it. Their only encounter came off Craig Kimbrel at the top of the 9th by Sterling Marte. It had been the first pitch Kimbrel threw in the game.
Pedro Strop was called on for mop-up duty, and if he loaded the bases and gave the Pirates a little glimmer of hope, Strop got Melky Cabrera swinging for a 3rd attack to finish the game. It’s a huge win for the Cubs, as they move to a tie with the Cardinals to get 1st in the NL Central.
Nothing has changed in the previous month. In the sense that no one has been able to pull away and get comfortable. It is likely going to continue to become a trip until the day of the season. Where they perform their best ball, the Cubs get back home.
For the Nationalsthey are behind in their own divisional struggle, but with more than a month left to play with in the regular year, it wouldn’t be an impossible chore to grab the Braves. They are only going to need to get sexy and expect the Braves stumble. If the Nationals miss out to the NL East, they’re a good opportunity they visit the Wild Card Game, though.
In case the postseason started today, subsequently the Nationals will be hosting the NL Wild Card Game from the Chicago Cubs. Together with the conflicts the Cubs have had on the street, the Nationals will likely be the favorites in the one. But, it would be simple to see a good deal of Cubs cash come in.
The Phillies, Brewers, and Mets are two matches out of a wildcard. Joe Ross was coming on lately and will look to stay hot tonight in Pittsburgh. The Pirates are expected to counter Ross using Trevor Williams. Head below for our free Nationals vs. Pirates select.

The Nationals have been quite ecstatic with the level of production that they’ve been getting from Joe Ross recently. After a slow start to the season, Ross has been on fire lately. In his whole career, it has been one of the best moves for him in reality.
In his past three outings, which move across 18 innings of work, Ross has allowed just 1-run for an ERA of 0.50 and 1.00 WHIP. It isn’t like he has only been getting blessed. Ross has been able to limit baserunners as well.
Overall this season, Ross has really been fairly capable on the road. He has not liked pitching in Washington, however, which is skewed up his figures. Ross has recently posted an ERA of 9.00 and 2.24 WHIP at home, while appearing sharp as a seeing hurler.
He enters Pittsburgh with a 3.86 ERA and 1.25 WHIP in 25.2 innings flying on the road. Ross should expect some solid run support from his offense in this one. They have been on fire recently and seem to hammer a struggling Trevor Williams on Monday night.
The Nats head to this one with 31 runs scored in their previous two games. They had 13 runs on the plank by the end of the 3rd inning yesterday afternoon. There were three hitters with at least 3 RBI’s, Brian Dozier with the most popular bat with 4 RBI’s in the win.
Williams heads to this one with the ERA of both 7.88 and 1.88 WHIP in his past three outings. He’s yielded 11 earned runs in his last 10 innings pitched. Additionally, Williams has failed to get control in the home. He has struggled with a 6.11 ERA and 1.47 WHIP at PNC Park.
