Napoli manager Carlo Ancelotti has hit out at the condition of the rooms following a summer of renovation work at the San Paolo Stadium, five days.
The Serie A club, who completed runners-up supporting Juventus in Italy’s top flight last year, played with their first two league games of this effort against Juve and Fiorentina while work on the stadium was continuing.
Napoli host Sampdoria on Saturday, although Champions League holders Liverpool traveling to Naples on September 17.
“I have observed the condition of the dressing rooms at the San Paolo. There are no words,” Ancelotti said in an statement.
“I approved the club’s request to play with the first two matches away from home to allow the work to be finished, as has been guaranteed.
“You can create a house in two months, however they weren’t effective at renovating the dressing rooms! What exactly are we supposed to have changed for the games against Liverpool and Sampdoria?
“I’m shocked at the incompetence of the people in control of the work.
“How can the Region, Municipality and Commissioners fail to respect the commitments which were made? It smacks of a lack of a bond using the team of all the city and disregard. I am dismayed.”
Footage published on the twitter account of Napoli shows there is extensive building work to be completed within the rooms, with their clash with Liverpool only five days off.
The works changing surveillance at the San Paolo and room enhancements, were assumed to be finished by the middle of September.
Liverpool will begin the defence of the sixth title after their win against Tottenham in Madrid when they travel to Italy next week.
